Chapter 10: Made me think of all the people with injuries but made me happy because they we're out of the war and even if they were dying they got to talk to one another and some even got to see family such as the oldest patient saw his wife. It made me think of a family that they were from the same blood from their war experience.

Chapter 9 and 10
Chapter 9: I felt was the worst part of war as Paul killed his first enemy face to face with. This part is the worse because he realized he wasn't just killing an enemy he killed someone just like himself someone. He realized he didn't just kill a man but he killed his family as they will mourn the death of their loved one. And he killed a man with a name. This allows Paul to think of how pointless war is and how they are just killing people because of their uniform difference which really is what war is like.
Chapter 10: Made me think of all the people with injuries but made me happy because they we're out of the war and even if they were dying they got to talk to one another and some even got to see family such as the oldest patient saw his wife. It made me think of a family that they were from the same blood from their war experience.

Imagine killing someone knowing they had a family they had friends just like you.
Chapter 10: Made me think of all the people with injuries but made me happy because they we're out of the war and even if they were dying they got to talk to one another and some even got to see family such as the oldest patient saw his wife. It made me think of a family that they were from the same blood from their war experience.

This is an excellent blog, and displays the NEED for the enemy to be abstract. for if you know that by killing the enemy will destroy not just their lives, but forever change the lives of dozens of others, the guilt could destroy you. knowing that you have done something such as taking a life merely because someone told you to is difficult. and if you know who they are and what there life has been could lead to post traumatic mental breakdowns.
