Chaptr 11 and 12

These chapters really made you think that someone who means so much to you as Kat to Paul or an entire class of students can really mean so little as a whole of war. That thousands of people die and everyone having a family that will mourn them. We actually see how Paul reacts to the death of someone close to him rather than random soldiers. We see what's its like to see a friend die right next to you. We see the worst part of being a soldier as your friends die one by one leaving you all alone to want your life to end. But i also feel even though Paul died he got what he wanted a happy ending to not go through life with these memories.

  1. Nice I totally agree. He was able to just pass over anyone else's death because he had no feelings or connections with them. But once Kat died, his best friend, he was destroyed.

  3. I agree and disagree. When Paul killed that french soldier in the trench, he reacted as if he had just killed one of his friends. But then i also agree, because when he was in the war, fighting with others, he didn't let that show, at all.
